| Over the past 5 years MDFW event has grown in spirit and
participation. Weekend activities kicked off with a get
acquainted dance Friday evening at the Central Michigan University's
Student Activity Center in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan.
Dancers were
treated to a live mini-concert by Barry Amato of TNN's Wildhorse
Saloon at both the Friday and Saturday evening activities.
Yes, Barry sang selections from his newly released CD "Tomorrowland"
while dancing with them! Wife/Dance
Partner Dari Anne worked a true partnership on the floor and off.
Midland, Michigan's own Lou Ecken, Women's 2nd
Place World LineDance Champion wowed everyone with a great line demo.
She and dance partner John Maxson taught couples WCS and Hustle over the
weekend to the pleasure of all. Everyone had
a great time seeing old friends and making new ones and were anxious for
workshop classes to begin. Dancers Jonalee
& Don Fisher of Plainwell, MI, were free pass winner to this year's
event and Gail Bonebrake of Paw Paw, MI, was drawn as MDFW 2002 Pass Winner.
