Guest Bios:

Brian Barakauskas from Kentucky, USA, Brian has been competing for a few years, culminating in success at Worlds 2000 in Nashville, Tennessee, with his win to become the World Superstar Champion, the highest championship in linedancing. Renowned for his technical ability, Brian is in demand throughout the world as an instructor. He is popular in the UK where he is referred to as “The Body”! He has also built up a following in Germany. Brian gives excellent technique workshops, and is able to cater for all levels of dancer. He & Lou will be teaching both line and couples classes.

Lou Ecken
placed second in Showcase Line Dance at the UCWDC World Championships in January, 2001, and recently qualified for the Superstar level of line dance competition, which is the highest level of line dance competition. She teaches WCS at CMU and Spurs Too in Midland MI as well as teaching & competing in line dance on the United Country Western Dance Circuit. At last year's MDFW Lou teamed with John Maxson to teach WSC, and student evaluations of the classes were excellent! Lou is a school social worker at Education and Training Connection in Midland, and would like to encourage everyone to reach out and be a part of a child or teen's life. . .make a difference!! Lou & Brian will be teaching both line & couples classes.

Barry & Dari Anne Amato,
favorites with both line and couples dancers at the MDFW 2001 will be joining us again this year. They are well known for their teaching appearances on the Wildhorse Saloon and Club Dance television shows on TNN as well as being featured dance instructors at events across the country. Barry's self produced record project, "Tomorrowland" best represents his musical style and the desire to create a complete entertainment package. His unique vocal talent along with his ten plus years as a dancer / choreographer would be a new approach for the country music recording industry and would fulfill the public's desire for an artist who can give them songs to sing to as well as dance to. He will soon be releasing his second CD and will be giving us a preview of the songs & new dances.
